I like the idea of Pugh, but don't understand the need for AJ Stewart... Did AJ lose his job? Is Coach Unga doing a poor job? I though Harvey did a great job with the RB this year, who thought BYU would have a 1000 yard rusher this year and he did it in only 11 games (1130 yards & 13 TD's). Katoa looked really good also: Rushing 84-444 yards & 5 TD's; Receiving 23-293 yards & 3 TD's. Granted BYU schedule was softer, but last year Katoa had: Rushing 85-358 yards & 4 TD's; Receiving 24-288 yards & 1 TD.

Two possible names to think about: TJ Woods it does not look like Utah St will be keeping him on the new staff. Utah St Bio; https://utahstateaggies.com/sports/foot ... -woods/465
He has just seemed to follow Coach Andersen around and Oregon St or Utah St 2.0 I'm not sure what to think of their OL play. Utah St 1.0 their OL play seemed to be pretty good.

But the one I have really grown to like the idea of is heading back to Weber St and going after Coach Brent Myers (Coach Sitake hired these coaches from Coach Hill's staff at Weber St: Steve Clark 2016 OC/QB, Fesi Sitake 2018 OC/WR, and Preston Hadley 2018 Recruiting Coordinator/S). Weber St Bio; https://weberstatesports.com/staff-dire ... -myers/166

Coach Myers experienced at both FBS (P5 & G5) and FCS:
Eastern Washington 1982-83: GA
Southern Illinois 1984: Interior OL
Eastern Washington 1985-91: OL/TE/LB/DL
Northern Arizona 1992-97: 1992 LB/ 1993-97 OL/1994 Named Associate HC/ 1996 Named OC/ 1996 Offensive Coordinator of the Year by the AFCA
Boise St 1998-99 OC/OL (Grimes coached Boise St 2000 OL)
Washington 2000-02: OL
Utah 2003: Assistant HC/OL (Under Urban Meyer)
Arizona St 2004-06 Run Game Coordinator/OL (Grimes Coached Arizona St 2001-03 RGC/OL)
Louisville 2007-09: OL
UNLV 2010-12: 2010-11 OL/ 2012 OC/TE
Weber St 2014-Currently: Associate Head Coach/OL

He has continued to produce while at Weber St with 13 All-Big Sky OL honorees and 2 All-American honorees, so it does seem like he still has the fire going for coaching young men (OT Iosua Opeta to Consensus All-America in 2018 and All-American in 2017 he was invited to the NFL Draft Combine). Last year he had a 1st Team All-Big Sky (Ty Whitworth) and 3rd Team All-Big Sky (Ben Bos). It looks like he took a year off in 2013, before he took the Weber St job.

I found this interesting from his Weber St Bio:
"In 2016, Cameron Young and Calvin Steyn both earned second-team All-Big Sky honors in 2016 and Iousua Opeta earned honorable mention honors. In 2015, three Wildcat linemen earned All-Big Sky honors with senior Joe Hawkins being named to the first team, the first Weber State player to earn first-team honors in four years. Hawkins also earned All-American honors from the Walter Camp Foundation."

So, it looks like he made a difference right from the start, coaching Joe Hawkins for 2 years (2014-2015) he earned 1st Team All-Big Sky and All-American honors from the Walter Camp Foundation. Iosua Opeta (coached him at least 4 years) went from Big Sky Honorable Mention in 2016 to All-American in 2017 to Consensus All-America in 2018. To me that sounds like he knows how to coach up a player.

I haven't seen any news on Pugh lately and if he's been banned from going back or if they had already moved on or what.

They announced they were looking for Pugh's replacement, so it seems that ship sailed.

All the better for BYU, though, if we could get him. He was Grime's first choice, after all, and he's been here before, so he knows the deal.

Another name to watch is Coach Bob Connelly from Northern Arizona OL Coach/Run Game Coordinator:

1995 Texas A&M Commerce: GA OL Coach (OL Coach Famika Anae is there right now)
1996-97 Cisco JC OL Coach
1998 Texas A&M: GA OL
1999 Cal St Northridge: OL Coach
2000 San Jose St: OL Coach
2001-02 Washington St: RGC/ OL Coach
2003-06 Alabama: OL Coach
2007 UCLA: OL Coach
2008-11 UTEP: Assistant HC/ Co-OC/ OL Coach
2012 Arizona St: Assistant HC/ RGC/ OL Coach
2014 Oklahoma St: RGC/ OL Coach
2015 USC: RGC/ OL Coach
2018 Mesquite High School: Assistant Coach
2019-currently Northern Arizona: Deputy HC/ RGC/ OL Coach

Teams of note:
#1 Notre Dame

#9 Alabama
#12 Ohio St
#22 Troy (I was really surprised by this , ranking I thought BYU had their way with this OL/likely do to a weak SOS)
#24 San Diego St
#25 Liberty
#43 Cincinnati
#68 Utah St
#69 Coastal Carolina
#82 Boise St
#109 Utah
