Hans' take on CC

I do hope Hans is right that BYU should be able to run against CC. If so, it could be a strong showing for the cougs.

But looking at the depth chart for both teams, and comparing them both to Boise, I noticed that, on average, CCU is a better matchup for BYU than Boise is. BYU had a three-inch and almost 20 pound advantage on Boise when comparing average o-line two-deep to average d-line two-deep. They will have the same height advantage on CCU, but only a 10 pound weight advantage. BSU was clearly fatigued by the second half, but considering CCU will likely play with their first string QB the whole game, BYU's defense might be on the field longer. Further, the closer weight differential may also work in CCU's favor.

So unlike the game against BSU, if the cougs aren't able to get out front early, it could become a real struggle. I do think the key will be BYU's defense, and I'm really hoping that massive difference between Khyiris and their center will account for something.

BYU should win this game but they need to come ready to play. I don't see CCU as being a pushover. They're going to give us a game.

Not sure what a W will get us but we know what a L will.

Because of the way they're selling the tickets in groups, I have a 4-pack when I only need two. If anyone else local to the area (or planning to fly in) wants a deal which includes sitting close to my wife and I, I'll let the extra two go for my ~stubhub cost+fees, AKA $450 each.

A W will get statements like "coastal wasn't a P5 team and played no one until BYU" BYU will get, basically, no credit for beating them, even if we win by 30+ points. Anyone remember the press after BYU destroyed BSU on their home field worse than they had ever been beaten since they went div 1? Yeah, me neither.

This game needs to be moved to ABC prime time. ESPN is considering changing the channel form ESPNU.
