BYU vs Opponent Averages Week 12

Post by SpiffCoug »

BYU has finished the regular season, and every opponent except Utah is also done playing so these numbers give us the final look at how BYU performed compared our opponent averages.

Let me know where I made a mistake and I'll fix them. But I think I've got it right. Some observations, the offense took a huge step back against SDSU. After missing just four of 20 (25%) marks the previous four games, they missed two of five (40%).

I hate to attribute the offensive struggles to just one player and respond that he missed the softest parts of the schedule, but the offense surpassed defensive averages in 41 of 60 categories. Of the 19 misses, 14 came with Zach Wilson at the helm.

It will also be interesting to see if the Utah offensive numbers change this week. BYU is close to missing or gaining the mark in points scored and PER respectively.
