Sitake's deal does not expire after 2019 per Jay Drew

Why hasn’t the school extended Sitake’s contract? The five-year deal he signed when he was hired in December of 2015 expires after the 2020 season.
...
BYU is a private institution and does not have to divulge terms of its coaching contracts like public schools do, but an athletic department spokesperson told The Salt Lake Tribune on Friday that Sitake is not entering the final year of his contract, contrary to what has been widely reported.
Through an intermediary, athletic director Tom Holmoe said Sitake is currently under contract and has more than one year remaining on it, but would offer no other details.

The next thing we'll find out is that Sitake's contract has a no fire clause and it automatically gets extended by a year each time he wins a game.

The beautiful thing about this is that no one knows when it will expire and there is sufficient leverage on Sitake to keep that date quiet. So now we can stop seeing stupid articles on why BYU needs to extend the contract of Gary Crowton 2.0

Because you want the team to lose games so that your fantasy of Sitake getting fired actually happens? I want Sitake to win every game and be here until he retires. Unfortunately, he isn't a good coach so the chances of that are pretty slim. I can't have him losing to Utah state anymore. That has to end next year. Plus it would be nice to be able to hold on to 20 point leads against the utes.

It is really fishy and weird that the details of Kalani's contract have mysteriously changed or never were accurately known over the years. I don't think this has ever happened before, even at BYU where the contracts are private and not public access. We all knew when Crowton's contract was up, we knew the status of Bronco's contracts, we knew Ty Detmer's. Why is Kalani's now suddenly different from what was originally reported?
