Per Jay Drew, the Sony gift suite is where Sony sets up a suite in a hotel with all of their stuff, and the players get to walk through and fill out a form specifying what they want (up a limit between $300 and $500) and Sony ships it to their residence.

That's not bad swag considering the bowls are limited to $500 per athlete, so the dollar value to individuals isn't different between the BCS Championship and Vegas. At least with the Sony Suite you can pick what you want and not end up with your 5th PSP in five years.
