Does anyone know who the new QB that we offered today is? there is an article on Scout.com but you need a subscription to read it. and also is the rumor true about Gary Andersen's son possibly commiting true? if so that would be sweet! the kid is a beast

Re: new QB offer
If Gary Anderson's son commits to BYU, that would be really strange (but crazier things have happened I guess). Anderson is U of U red through and through (outside of his current employer). He had a chance to go to BYU out of Ricks and didn't. Also, I would assume that he'd play for his dad.

Yeah thats true. But your right crazier things have happened. I was suprised Keegan Hicks committed to BYU. Supposedly he was a die hard ute but now he's gonna play here. That would be awesome for him to rebel against his dad though.

Re: new QB offer
Is it possible we offered 2-star Pro-style QB Jihad Vercher from Bishop Mora Salesian HS,
in Los Angeles, CA?
6-1/200/40:4.55 secs/GPA:3.3
He is a multi-purpose running/throwing QB.
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
During his junior season he had 176-276, 3800 yards, 44 TDs and only 8 INTs. He also had 42 carries, 433 yards, and 11 TDs.
Was 126-255 for 1937 yards, 26 TDs and only 5 INTs as a 2010 sophomore. Also had 28 carries for 188 yards and 1 TD.
He is being recruited by Boise State, BYU, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Virginia, Washington State.
Other possibility is QB Jake Lloyd from Timpview HS in Provo, UT. He is 6-2/180/4.60 and was being recruited by BYU, Colorado State, Maryland, Nevada, Stanford, TCU, Tulsa, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Yale.

That would be cool if we offered Lloyd. I went to high school with his brother Dallas and i have seen his highlight vid and the kid is just like his brother. he would be a great get if he commits

It might also be Hayden Griffetts. A QB from Winter Gardens, FL who was at junior day today with his brother Kyle Griffetts who is an OLB.

Bruggman, a 2013 QB that BYU has offered, committed to the Cougars today... Too bad it was Washington State.

Re: new QB offer
It would seem difficult for BYU to sign a top QB right now given the pipeline loaded as much as it is. Maybe if the #1 or 2 rated Juco QB or a big-time transfer with no waiting period that could step right in for 2013 was available. But he would need to be very good and very experienced for that to make any sense.
If they signed a a young QB - probably had to take some risk - maybe an athlete that could fit elsewhere if QB did not pan out. Mission plans. Etc.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.
