Re: Big 12 Expansion at 15%

When the Chair of the OU Board of Regents publicly expressed his sceptism on the need to expand, the Boren campaign suffered a major blow. I think the expansion proponents, rather then lose the vote, will table the issue and not revisit it until at least 2018. Future realignment may not occur until ...

The MWC commissioner stated that the conference members would not be interested in splitting their TV revenue with another member.

The NCAA has created an anti-discrimination process for championship bids.

Cities bidding to host championships games will now have to show "how they will provide an environment that is safe, healthy and free of discrimination, plus safeguards the dignity of everyone involved in the event". https://www.google.com/amp/www.cbssports.com/article/amp/25569227/?client...

Re: Might the NCAA eventually kick out religious schools (LGBT-related)

It would require a simple majority of the 1,281 members of the NCAA. As a private entity, even though the majority of members are public institutions, the NCAA can do what it wants. Here another article on the subject, ftom an organization that monitors how the media treat religion: http://www.getre...

Re: Idaho dropping to FCS

UMass and New Mexico State will probably do the same. Independence is harsh for small time programs. As the P5 seek to play more OOC games amongst themselves and top echelon non-P5, there will be fewer money games for teams like Idaho. UMass generated $7M in football revenue, last year; NMSU was und...

The ban on satellite camps will likely not be upheld.

After the vote, both the PAC-12 and the Sun Belt commissioners said that their representatives had voted contrary to the wishes of their respective members. The vote in favor of the ban was 10-5 (P5 votes count as two). Had those two conferences voted the way they had expected, the vote would have b...
