I have been so bummed about BYU football, that I have barely been on this site for a while.

The game just ended ... and reading this thread now is humorous!! I laughed!! We are bunch of cynical jerks ... and the team just proved us wrong! I had SLIGHTLY higher expectations than Spiff going in ... I am VERY glad we are bunch of cynical jerks that got it wrong!

This was a huge win but the excitement can go out the window pretty fast if we don't keep that chip on our shoulder and take care of business the rest of the way. If we keep playing like that we could have a double digit win season.

I'd start Wilson against McNeese.

Mangum isn't the problem here. Coaching is. For crying out loud, in 15 Mangum looked like the next BYU great and now it is his fault?
Injuries take their toll. Bosco wasn't the same his senior year, Hill wasn't as fast his senior year, and Mangum isn't the same this year. It's not his fault, but the freshman Mangum was physically--and consequently, mentally--better than the senior Mangum.

That's because he had a heavy and unnatural piece of metal in his foot as a result of the surgery.

Also, after losing 10 pounds, Mangum looks a little more mobile, more like 2015.

Mangum isn't THE problem, but he is A problem. No reason not to bench a guy that can't get it done to try the next man up.

OH YES, it was fans calling for Mangum when Taysom was starting in 2016. Remember how awesome 2017 was going to be now that Taysom was out of the way and we finally had a QB who could win those tough games? Finally, we don't have to deal with a QB who was given the starting job simply because he was the SENIOR. Good times, good freaking times.
