This article talks about the quality of journalism regarding the first and later second MWC media announcements of the MWC's Boise St. decision. Granted this took place during some rather turbulent times in CFB nation but here's the best line:

According to some reports, there were more members of the media from Idaho there than there were from California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas combined.

You know, states where there actually are members of the Mountain West Conference.

Why were there no media members from these states?
Cause. no. one. cares. about. Boise.

Well, there's that, and the fact that the football world was falling apart around us at the same time, but the lack of interest in this story, EXCEPT for Idaho media (Cause there's nothing else going for Idaho at the moment), is rather astonishing.

You might even go as far to say that this move threatened no one's plans, encroached on no one's territory, threatened no one's recruiting areas or stole revenue models from anyone else's plans. We successfully got a football power capable of ensuring that no one from the MWC finishes undefeated without helping secure a BCS AQ status with whom we can split our money one more way. No one cares about them (and most people would also say they don't care about us either!) and the media knows this.

I've have not been a fan of this invitation, and I hope we're not making a huge mistake. I don't see it.
