BYU QB Reunion at Homeopener v. UW?
Seattle Times Reporter Bob Condotta had an interview with Sark about the BYU-UW home opener. It is a homecoming game of sorts for Sark. He mentioned that other BYU QB's will be at the game as well, including Detmer, McMahon, Steve Young and others. I wonder what BYU has up its sleeve here? If McMahon is coming, that is a really big deal. Maybe they finally honor him the right way? Hope so.

That would be totally awesome if BYU and McMahon could work things out.
I remember the first game that McMahon was the starting QB at the Y and he just blew the competition away. The old sheriff had left, Marc Wilson, but the new sheriff was in town and he came out swinging.

Where the hell am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Wow I wonder if Detmer, Young, McMahon, Sark, and LaVell will gather at midfield and say "Earth!" "Wind!" "Fire!" "Water!" "Heart!" to summon their superpowers with their special rings. Or maybe it will be more of a mighty-morphin power rangers thing where they instead turn into giant robots.
Can't wait for the season to start!

What would be "the right way" to honor Mac? He isn't a BYU graduate.Lawboy wrote: If McMahon is coming, that is a really big deal. Maybe they finally honor him the right way? Hope so.

So the freak what. He was an amazing football player for the team, which is what he would be honored for--his on field results. Last I checked, none of the ring of honor players got nominated for academics. The graduate requirement is too simplistic. What if Jake Heaps rips it up, get us to teat next level, then goes pro after 3 years?? if your on the filed play warrants it, you honor that. It is the right thing to do because it show appreciation for contributions he made to BYU football lore. He deserves being shown that gratitude from the university and its fans.

I don't think you answered my question lawboy-
Are you saying that BYU should change their rules for Mac, or that he should be recognized in a different way? And if so, how?

I have a feeling that even if Heaps did rip it up for three years, that he wouldn't be the type to not come back and finish his degree.
