MWC arenas mentioned in Forde Minutes

BYU of course is listed as 3rd under the category of "XXL", which invoked some pride, until it mentioned our lowly average attendance, especially in comparison to the high attendances surrounding us.

I was feeling pretty sad about this til I saw the the :utard:s Huntsman center in there under the category of "Blandest Buildings"   The write-up was even better:

"Huntsman Center (35). Who plays there: Utah. Opened: 1969. Capacity: 15,000. Why the NCAA insists on returning the tournament to this aging and pedestrian place on a regular basis is beyond The Minutes."

NM and Wyoming also both had their arena's mentioned under "Quirkiest Cribs".

The Huntsman Center is the "blandest"? that may be explained by the dullards in the stands. All 5 of them!

And four of those are the :utard: cheerleaders sleeping off a hard night of binge drinking.

I'd love to see the Marriott Center revamped. Unfortunately, it's too big for its purposes. It rarely sells out it's bball games and rarely fills for devotionals. I'd love to see about 4k of seats taken out, some luxury box-type seats installed and more leg space between rows.

I am a bit tubby but seem to fit fine at Energy Solutions and most other places but feel like a sardine packed in a row at the Marriott Center.

I am holding out hope that one of these off seasons, they will replace all the chair seats with wider more comfortable seats reducing the capacity by a couple of thousand. If they really wanted to shrink the place, they could replace the whole arena with chair seats probably making it more like a 16,000-18,000 seat arena full of comfortable seats.

The Marriott Center is simply an uncomfortable arena. Once you sit down, if you are not on an edge seat, there is simply no easy way to get to the aisle. There is just no room to maneuver.
