You mean a big name program with coaching issues and lazy-arse kids who are incredibly talented but headcases without leadership, a team that doesn't even deserve to make it in to the tournament based on their mediocre record and work ethic, but are allowed in anyway, and worse, given a low seed because everyone knows that kind of talent can manage to turn it on in a big game?
Ala Utah v. Arizona last year?
Yeah. That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of.

You forgot to mention: and gets all the calls because they're a "big name" program.GolfDiveNCougs wrote:You mean a big name program with coaching issues and lazy-arse kids who are incredibly talented but headcases without leadership, a team that doesn't even deserve to make it in to the tournament based on their mediocre record and work ethic, but are allowed in anyway, and worse, given a low seed because everyone knows that kind of talent can manage to turn it on in a big game?

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've been fearing the exact same thing as you guys for much of this season, as it has been a down year for many big name programs.declocoug wrote:Nailed it.GolfDiveNCougs wrote:You mean a big name program with coaching issues and lazy-arse kids who are incredibly talented but headcases without leadership, a team that doesn't even deserve to make it in to the tournament based on their mediocre record and work ethic, but are allowed in anyway, and worse, given a low seed because everyone knows that kind of talent can manage to turn it on in a big game?

Yeah. That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of.
Other potential games we could get similar to UCONN that come to mind are Louisville, Marquette, Florida, along with some others.
And then yeah, that's the big fear, that all of the sudden come tournament time, they decide to start playing like they should have all year with the talent they have, now that it counts for a whole lot more.
That's why I want to get to that 4 or 3 seed so bad. I don't even want the 5 seed, it's the dreaded upset spot. I would rather have a 6 seed. Did you know that a higher % of 12 seeds beat 5 seeds than 11 seeds beat 6 seeds? Only place where that reverse trend takes place. I don't want a 5 seed.

BYU would SMOKE Wake if they ever came to play in Provo.

#4 Purdue 60, #12 Ohio State 57
Missouri 82, #17 Texas 77
This was Ohio State's 7th loss this season, and the Buckeyes did it at home. No doubt they move into the Top 10 next week.
Of course, Purdue has a worse overall and conference record than both BYU and New Mexico as well. Those awesome #4 Boilermakers!

This is loss number SEVEN for both George City and Miny Soda. But while Minn is 9-5 in conference play, Georgie is a weak, average 8-6. Color me unimpressed by either Top 25 poser.
And Gonzaga? What a joke. Not a great team.
