"My time of playing football has come to an abrupt end," Langi posted. "Due to surgery and a recurring neck injury. Discontinuing football is at the best interest of my health, my family, and my future. I have enjoyed and loved everything that football has taught me. I'd like to thank everyone that had a part on getting me over here to BYU. Grateful for everyone that helped, supported, and encouraged me these past couple of years. I am truly grateful for Coach Sitake, BYU football, and BYU for the opportunities that they have given and opened up for me. On to the next chapter…."

What a surprise.
Just kidding. I have said repeatedly that No would never play a meaningful snap of football. He was big but not athletic. Easy to beat in every situation.
But a great kid and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Disappointing, but hope him the best. I wonder if he'll finish out his schooling? I believe they honor students who have scholarships and become medically unable to perform to still have a scholarship until graduation, but I don't know that for certain.

Sno called it as well.
I'm disappointed--I really wanted to see this behemoth on the field! I was wondering how he was progressing and was hoping he might see the field a bit this year.
He was fast enough in a straight line, but didn't have great burst or agility. He could fill a gap and may have been useful on short distance defensive stands. Ah well.
I wish him the best. And I think I saw that he got engaged last summer, so good for him to be thinking of his family and future health.
My understanding is also that the NCAA requires schools to honor scholarships for kids who are medically unable to perform, though it doesn't count those scholarships against the team's headcount. Regardless, BYU is so cheap that he can essentially get his Bachelors degree for less than $10,000 right now. It'd pay for itself in his first year of employment, almost regardless of what he got his degree in. Unless, of course, he wanted to join the WWF--pretty sure he wouldn't need a BA for that one; just a lot of BS. (Sorry, couldn't resist! )

The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited to the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were and ask, "Why Not?" -JFK & SWK

He officially played in four games in 2017, mostly on special teams, but never recorded any statistics.

This just confirms that Kalani is not as good as Bronco was when it comes to developing raw talent.
Bronco -- Ziggy from nothing to NFL.
Kalani -- Mo Langi from nothing to .... ?
