Glaciers have been melting for eons, even before man. I thought the tree huggers did not want to change nature. Take a geology class.

Don't try to bring science into this. The whole global warming paranoia has absolutely nothing to do with science.

With an issue this pressing (the ability to take rights and freedoms from every man, woman and child), unscientific methods aren't only justified but necessary. Right?

Very poor form on the writers' part and good news for India that the Himalaean glaciers are not going to disappear in the time frames previously projected. But this does not mean that glaciers in various parts of the world are not retreating. Idaho use to have some glaciers but its last one disappeared in 2008. I just read an article about Chilean glaciers in the Patagonia area. Of 48 glaciers there, 46 are retreating, one is holding its own and one is advancing

No one's doubting that glaciers are retreating in various areas. What they are questioning is whether it's due to man-made global warming.

Earth's history is repleat with climate changes and what we are seeing now is no different from the norm. Much of North America was covered by glaciers up until about 10,000 years ago. Obviously, they melted. The data have shown that there has been no noticeable warming over the past 10 years.
