You can try, but you can't replace a guy like Tejan. A stellar career at BYU.

For all of the trouble that the O line faced while he was here, he consistently played very well. I could probably count the number of bad snaps he had on one hand; he did a solid job calling out assignments, and I loved watching for his pancake blocks.

Despite a dismal year, I hope the stalwart, stand up guys like Tejan and Fred get a fair shot at playing in the League by teams looking over their entire body of work. And I hope Detmer can still go to bat for Tejan with his NFL connections.

Tejan is a proven commodity 2nd team pretty much guarantee's his draft possibilities. Tristin Hoge was a 4* talent and could easily replace him at the center position. It is a joke to think Detmer has any NFL connections these kids will make it only on their individual merits which are plenty. The dismal year has zero effect on their draft possibilities.

nfl teams will carefully scout these kids based on a lot of criteria. Connections are not a factor in a team drafting a 2nd team All-American. That is the point they will draft according to their analysis not based on a tip from a guy out of the league for ten years. They don't give a crap what BYU's record is.

His height hurt him here (should've been consensus 1st team) and it's going to hurt him in the draft as well.
