CARMELO NBA Player Projections
FiveThirtyEight has developed an algorithm called CARMELO that they are using to project the careers of players (or identify similar players) as well as NBA starting line-up and playing time. Go here for the nitty gritty on how it works:

Here is what Jabari Parker's projection looks like:
So he's on a career path similar to Marvin Williams and Luol Deng...
And here is the Spurs projected line-up and playing time:
I'm a Spurs fan so this interested me, but I was surprised that they are putting Jimmer at 20% playing time at SG. I think it's a bit high, but I hope he gets it.
They also have other stuff like projecting the rookies (this was before the draft) and what % they'll be a star/start/role player/bust. What do you guys think about CARMELO (stupid name)? Which players did you look up and who are they linked to?
