"Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate"

So he is improving his drinking?

Quick, name me one QB who went to rehab and came back and was competent in the league.

The Browns should cut their losses now

Johnny Manziel's problems (party, drink, party, drink, party, drink, combined with poor work ethic) will be his undoing. A flash in the pan. Will go the way of talented USC/Raider QB Todd Marinovich. A sad waste of incredible talent. Life is about choices.

Let's just hope for the kid's sake that it takes hold and sticks. Still not convinced he has the skill-set to be a starting NFL QB, but I'd like to see him take his best shot at it.

ESPN's Merril Hoge (whose son, QB Beau Hoge, committed to BYU today) - had an interesting take on Johnny Manziel -

"It's going to be a quick exit and it's unfortunate," Hoge said via The Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Whoever drafted him in Cleveland, they need to be fired."

Browns general manager Ray Farmer is the culprit, but others in the organization had input on the decision.

"It's unfair to the kid," Hoge continued. "He has sixth-round talent but first-round hype, and you draft him there and now regardless of what happens from here on out, he will be expected to play like a first-rounder and that's unfair to him."

This isn't the first time Hoge has bluntly stated his opinion on Manziel. On ESPN's First Take, Hoge said the then-Texas A&M quarterback had "bust" written all over him if drafted in the first round.
