Team is now 5-2 having won 5 in a row in league and currently in first place. Tonight beat Stanford 3-1. Very exciting game. Sandman is a senior and Patch is on a mission. Got a couple of new kids that look good. Heninger is a transfer from a Canadian school. Had some great kills.

I watched the Pepperdine game. There were some impressive rallies. I saw lots of blue in the crowd. The big difference between the teams was Pepperdine's greater desire (both teams had similar ability) to keep the ball in play. When they made a good hit and BYU managed to return the ball they hadn't relaxed but were ready. This didn't happen as often when the roles were reversed. Despite this we lead 9-8 in the 5th set and appeared to have momentum. This will probably be a learning experience applied to tonight's game. I'm excited. Our team has some amazing talent.

We tied for first in conference. Conference playoffs started tonight. We killed USC 3-0. Next game Thursday against UCLA-UCSB winner. Both teams beat us last week but we are not the home team.

For those of you who had more "important" things to do than watch the match tonight, you really missed out on a fun match, provided you're a BYU fan/player/coach otherwise it wasn't all that fun. BYU murderated USC in the first set, 25-13. It wasn't even as close as the score said it was. The next two matches were much closer, 25-18 and 25-17.

The highlight of the match was when USC thought that a ball had gone out because it hit an object up by the ceiling and immediately went into the little huddle up. It turned out that the ball wasn't considered to have gone out and was still a live ball. Easy, easy point for BYU.

The match was a great kick start after having lost the previous four matches.

I got home late last night, but had recorded the game. It was worth staying up until 2:00 to watch! I'll have to do the same Saturday night. Time to take it to Stanford!

With 6 teams in the national tournament, the top 2 will get a bye. The winter on Saturday should get one of those byes.
