Helpful Utah Facts
Utah has a professional basketball team - the Utah Jazz, which of course has nothing to do with the state.
Utah is home to America's first department store, the Zions Co-operative Mercantile Institution. It was a socialist experiment that ended up making money when it went capitalistic on everyone.
Utah's license plates have a desert image of a bowlegged cowboy—at least that’s what my kids think
Utah's Great Salt Lake covers 2100 square miles with average depth of 13 feet. State once spent $50 million to drain it, but after building pumps lake receded. But this is not the greatest waste: that happened when SLC Tribune started publishing
The state symbol of Utah is the beehive, which represents stay the heck away or you will be stung to death
Utah's Wasatch mountain range is named after Sasquatch’s cousin Warren
During WWII, the Alta, Utah, ski center served as a training ground for the paratroopers from the 10th Mountain Regiment. Dang military bureaucracy then had them jump into Northern Africa, so that was a total loss of some good ski passes
Fillmore, Utah served as Utah’s capital when it was still a territory. It was named for US President Millard Fillmore. Really. There was a President named Fillmore and Utah named its capital after him. This explains why only Utahans can identify Fillmore as a President in trivia games asking to name the President most likely to vanish from historian's sight
Beaver, Utah is the birthplace of Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of television. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Speaking of invention, Utah has invented lots of words like 'darn', 'fetch', 'flip', 'heck', and 'shoot’
65% of Utah is owned by the federal government, this does not include Ute Basketball, which is owned by BYU

I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
