Gary Anderson to Wisconsin

Wow. How wild to hear that Gary Anderson from USU slated to replace Alvarez at Wisconsin. What shocks me is that I hadn't seen anything in the paper indicating he was a contender. I wondered why his name hadn't surfaced at Bolder for the Colorado job.

I think he's a good pick for them and USU fans must be lamenting thinking they were becoming a bigger program on the college scene but they truth comes out that they are still just a stepping stone and probably always will be.

I hope USU doesn't come looking at any BYU assistants. I don't mind them moving up in the world. I simply do not like having to watch former BYU staff recruiting against BYU.

Whew! This sigh of relief for Aggie fans almost lasted three whole weeks!

There were some articles today after the job. He was 2nd in line for it. He told CU and Cal that he was not interested.

He has two of his kids committed to USU. What happens to them? Do they follow their dad?

Also rumors that he'll bring most of the current USU staff with him.

USU's program just died a spectacular death.

Would a program like Wusc actually want the Anderson boys? I don't recall them being top recruits or getting more than a handful of offers.

Can't blame him. But he did have a nice thing going in Logan. He'll now be fired in 3-4 years and be looking for another job. Could have been a hero in Logan.

Their dad might have a say in the matter now.

With his salary, they would not need scholarships. Walkon and hope they are good enought to see the field.

Interesting! This is a much more attractive offer than CU or UC. Wisconsin is the real deal.
And who cares if he's fired in four years? He'll be at least 8 million richer, 2 per season with a golen parachute attached. $ isn't everything, but a shot at a legit BCS program? Take it! Sucks for those layers, but understandable. USU would take him back anyway in four, when Sitake gets fired at USU.
