Class of 2011 - Marcus Case RB

Post by byucougar1 »

5'8"/180 lbs from Springville HS. Must be a walk-on.

2010 - rushed 159 times for 1,344 yards, and 19 TD's.
2009 - carried the ball 64 times for 405 yards, and 5 TD's.

In one games against Dixie:

502 all purpose yards - 370 yards on 17 carries and 4 TD's. 68 receiving yards and 64 Return yards.

Sounds like Dupaix has plans for him as a slot back.

His cousin is Richard Wilson, the TE. Loads of tweets on him during the year.

A solid walk-on prospect.

Case will walk on at BYU as a running back following his mission to the San Fernando, California Mission this September. He will return to the team in Spring Camp 2013.

Love this quote from his interview with True Blue Sports:

“Coach Doman was very helpful and caring. He made me feel like BYU was the place that I needed to be and I felt the same way.” Marcus added “I think BYU has some of the best coaches in the country. Their record shows that thy care about winning but they go the extra mile to care about the welfare of each player.”

Case is excited for his mission but is also enthusiastic about what the future holds for BYU. “I think going independent will give the team a tough schedule and that's just what they need to get to that national championship game”. Marcus said, “I think being on ESPN is going to be great exposure for the football program. I'm very excited to play for them and contribute to the Cougars winning.”

This is what the Y is selling our recruits - lots of exposure on ESPN and sights are set on a NC.
