He'll be a fine senator. Would have been a better president. He really should have skipped the 2012 race. He'd have beaten Hillary.

I like Mitt and voted for him in 12. I am not sure he would have beaten Trump or Hillary. There is a faction of the christian community that has stated that they will never vote for a Mormon. It's a shame because he would make a fine president but I just don't see it happening.

He went to school here. He ran the Oypmics here. He's lived here since before he ran for POTUS in 2012. He is LDS (which alone gives him ties). He's not a carpetbagger. He may not be a life-long Utahn, but to me, it's laughable to laugh at the suggestion that he doesn't have ties to Utah.

When Mitt ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2003, he was accused of carpetbagging because of his ties and residency in Utah.

Utahans are comfortable electing people who are latecomers to the State, and that is just fine. Heck, when Orrin Hatch first ran (which was sometime last century), he was known as foreign Orrin.
