indeed we do.
Wasn't Wade Mr. Basketball in state of Utah? The guy seems legit.

Re: Gonzaga losing a transfer as well
Wade is an intriguing case, because he was a good high school prospect, he was Mr. Basketball, as BroncoBot points out, but he also had only one legitimate D1 offer, Gonzaga. At Gonzaga he's been largely irrelevant.
Is he better than Dastrup? No. Getting him in place of Dastrup would be a net loss. But having him come in as a walk-on to be a 2nd or 3rd string PG could be intriguing.
If he weren't to go to BYU would he go to any kind of big time program? I doubt it. Most likely a very low tier D1 program or a D2.

Re: Gonzaga losing a transfer as well
I knew wade's cousin. He told me that BYUs recruiting of wade was a major turnoff.
To hawk's points. He played in 26 (?) games as a freshman right off the mission? I think he has potential. Maybe he was going for big fish in small pond if he is going to UVU, and I can't blame him for that. Especially if he had a bad previous experience with BYU. As SNO pointed out,BYU has been taking some real head scratches as their guards these days.

You would know this better than I would, or maybe you can find out, but do any big ponds actually want him? As far as I know, and I don't know much about this kid at all, but from what I understand no one actually wanted or recruited him. Has that changed now?BroncoBot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 8:06 pmI knew wade's cousin. He told me that BYUs recruiting of wade was a major turnoff.

A lot of that IMHO, was he gave a early verbal to Gonzaga back in 2013.hawkwing wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 1:55 pm Wade is an intriguing case, because he was a good high school prospect, he was Mr. Basketball, as BroncoBot points out, but he also had only one legitimate D1 offer, Gonzaga. Where has it been reported that he is transferring to UVU? Last I had heard by second hand (maybe even 3rd) sources that he was likely to transfer to BYU.

This is just a guess (and not a bad one).
Wade has not made any official announcements about possible destinations yet.

Re: Gonzaga losing a transfer as well
the extreme cynicism around the message board fanbase is funny to a degree but is getting old. By the way, remind me which Weber State or D2 transfers got a scholarship. I can't think of a D2 transfer. Cannon is still a walkon.

Re: Gonzaga losing a transfer as well
To be fair, some of our better guards of late (Carlino, Bryant) were transfers.
