Well for the 1st time he didn't under throw the ball but on 4th and 1 why go deep especially with a QB who is incapable of making a throw.

Re: BSU game thread
they play soft physically, can't stop the run and get no pressure on the QB. They are a bad defense. The offense sucks too but the reputation that this defense is valiantly playing hard while the offense sucks is not earned. Not what I am seeing on the field.Jarhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:06 pm Dude, this is not a great defense. But, they are not doing terribly. They have to go out there series after series knowing that their offense probably isn't going to do anything. What do you expect will happen long term. The defense has not been stellar, but the failure is on the offense.

IMO, it was gutsy call that if it would have worked everyone would be calling it a great call. Detmer took a gamble and lost.

BSU has called off the dogs and is just trying to run the clock out.Jarhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:18 pmThey just got another stop. Tonga made a great play on a short field.frdbtr wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:19 pmBSU has called off the dogs and is just trying to run the clock out.Jarhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:18 pmThey just got another stop. Tonga is a good player. Has a huge upside. We have a bunch of good players on defense but they are not playing good defense. That is on the coaches.Jarhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:23 pmTonga made a great play on a short field.frdbtr wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:19 pmBSU has called off the dogs and is just trying to run the clock out.Jarhead wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:18 pmThey just got another stop. Re: BSU game thread
This is all a matter of semantics. I totally agree that the defense is not great. At the same time, they are not a bad defense. They have plenty of areas where they could and should be better. But I guarantee that if our offense would show some life, we would automatically see defensive improvement as well.
