Who are the biggest surprise gets and who are the biggest surprise losses?
I'll admit, I'm always surprised when a kid who has an offer to BYU chooses to go to USU.

I thought he was a preferred walk-on--but I wonder if he got a scholarship when one of the other guys fell through. They don't announce walk-ons like that because they are technically still in school and not committed through a LOI. I also believe he is a mission first guy.

I think the biggest surprise was QB Joe Critchlow. He is from Tennessee and those programs back east shied away from him when he told them he was set on going on a 2 year mission. With few other options, he decided to commit to Southern Utah. He will soon return from his mission but with Coach Lamb now at BYU, he asked for a release from SUU and they granted it. He will be on the team for 2017 as a freshman.hawkwing wrote:Who are the biggest surprise gets and who are the biggest surprise losses?

The other "surprises" would have to be the guys who hadn't committed until today:
Alden Tofa
Lorenzo Fauatea
The biggest surprise miss would probably be Hola Mata picking USU over BYU. I don't think Tufele was a surprise because he narrowed the list to 3 not including BYU--even though his hat ceremony had 5 hats in it. Lolohea was also leaning Washington for a while.

He's really the only one I'm holding out on with hope on still signing. Otherwise I feel it was a job well done by Kalani and his staff. I only see, so far (at this point in the morning) only 2 poly players have signed with Puketah. That's way different and indicates some wins by KS.snoscythe wrote:Chaz Ah You should be announcing in the next half hour or so...

Honestly, can you imagine Ah You taking a copter ride all the way to Palo Alto or Seattle. That would be a huge dent in someone's wallet.
