It also helps when you get $2 billion in free media coverage and you have the largest "conservative" news outlet openly advising one candidate and essentially campaigning for him.Schmoe wrote:I guess it's something about the non-Trumpers being divided between other candidates, but making up a larger number of total republicans. No he doesn't. He'd rather speculate about the love life of Mika Bryzenski and Joe Scarborough than attack HRC. He said last week that we probably need to give the benefit of the doubt to the Clinton Foundation until we really know what happened there.KingCoug wrote:How is Trump being soft on Hillary? He walks back everything. He takes two steps forward and then three steps back.

Yep, so Republican voters decided to nominate the one guy who couldn't beat the most corrupt and dishonest person to ever run for president.BroncoBot wrote:so basically, he's the same as every other Republican nomination for the past 20 years.snoscythe wrote:You could start a thread like this on any present position Trump stakes out--"Remember when Trump" staunchly took the opposite position he takes today?

It's pretty much impossible to defend Trump without changing the subject to talk about Hillary.

It's one of the very few positives about him: he's not Hillary.BlueK wrote:It's pretty much impossible to defend Trump without changing the subject to talk about Hillary.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

He does, but he also gets really easily distracted and unfocused.KingCoug wrote:How is Trump being soft on Hillary? Re: Remember when Trump was going to deport all illegals & build a wall?
As I mentioned elsewhere, all those other guys couldn't even carry their own states. They were all a bunch of washed up has beens who have the distinguished honor of being considered "politicians". American/Republican voters apparently have had enough of these candidates and the GOP decided to create the trump phenomenon.SpiffCoug wrote:Yep, so Republican voters decided to nominate the one guy who couldn't beat the most corrupt and dishonest person to ever run for president.BroncoBot wrote:so basically, he's the same as every other Republican nomination for the past 20 years.snoscythe wrote:You could start a thread like this on any present position Trump stakes out--"Remember when Trump" staunchly took the opposite position he takes today?

Re: Remember when Trump was going to deport all illegals & build a wall?
The majority of GOP voters also rejected Trump. But due to stupid winner-take-all rules he is the nominee. He's the worst GOP nominee in a very long time. He also has the lowest amount of support from the GOP voters.
2016, Trump, 44.95% of popular vote
2012, Romney, 52.1%
2008, McCain, 46.7%
2000, Bush, 62.0%
1996, Dole, 58.8%
1988, Bush, 67.9%
1980, Reagan, 59.8%
1976, Ford, 53.5%
1968, Nixon, 37.5% (Reagan had 37.9%)

Agreed. The GOP made their bed. Now they get to sleep in it. I dislike both parties equally.SpiffCoug wrote:The majority of GOP voters also rejected Trump.
