Harvey Langi Moved to DE

Post by snoscythe »

Is this position change news to anyone else, or did I just miss the change earlier in the year? Seems it is a fairly new development as he was named to the Butkus Award watchlist less than a month ago....something a DE would not be eligible for.

I hadn't seen anything official, but I had seen some fall camp videos showing him at DE. I think it's a move to compensate for Takitaki not being in camp.

If the yewts take the field and there are no BYU fans to pour beer on, will anybody come?

I think he actually would work better as a pass-rushing DE in the 4-3 than a LB. Seems like a good move.

Langi is a natural inside linebacker. I think this is a mistake.

I heard rumblings about doing this over the summer, but thought it was just rumor. It turned out to be true. It could be a good move, I honestly don't know. I look forward to seeing how it unfolds.

I've read that he's practiced at DE every day of camp so far. I fear it's a mistake to move him from LB, like it was to move Bronson from DE to LB, but who knows.

But what type of defensive shadows will he be casting?

Does this mean Sitake & Tuiaki like what they see at LB with Bernard, Warner and Puau?
