Jimmer's D-League Defense

Opposing coach was mic'd up saying "Jimmer can't guard anybody" yet Jimmer's team won by one point and he had 3 steals and a block. He also has a defensive rating on 102.2. I'm not sure how good/bad that is, but apparently he shows up on page 3 of 6 so that's about average I guess.

Re: Jimmer's D-League Defense
If his defense was as bad as everyone wants to say it is, his plus/minus would be in the toilet -- any smart coach would be able to exploit it easily. He doesn't play D well, it's not a strength by any stretch, but it's not as bad as people want to pretend. I think it plays into the white=unathletic narrative.

Re: Jimmer's D-League Defense
102.2 means that over a 100 possessions Jimmer gives up 102.2 points. I believe that would slightly below average. The key is what is his offensive rating. Just looked. It is 116.9, which is very good. He probably has played well enough to get another crack at a backup PG spot.byufan4ever wrote:http://thebiglead.com/2016/01/09/jimmer ... e-defense/
