Which is more likely - NFL?

Discussion for professional sporting events/teams and players.

This would be a great place to discuss the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs or whatever else.

I expect a shortened season. Just too much money for either side to back down easily.

I think they are already pretty close now that they have figured out the right way to go at this (i.e. get all the regular Joes in a room to work out an agreement in principle, and THEN bring the lawyers in instead of bringing your army of attorneys into the first meeting).

The reason the NFL is making money hand over fist is because the fans love the league. Any missed games will not only cost them revenue from those games, but will cost them long term ill-will from fans like me who would hold it against them if we missed games because millionaires were complaining that the billionaires that write their checks get too much. The NFL owners and players don't want to mess up a good thing, and that gives them all motivation to get this over with sooner rather than later.

I think the NFL will play a full season. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a deal in the next 2 or 3 weeks, in time for almost a full training camp. The owners being willing to give up the billion dollars off the top went a long way. They are showing a ton of good will right now as well.

The NFL is making oodles of money as a whole, unlike the NBA, so I see a full season of football ahead.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,
