Aggregate Goals?
Someone want to explain to me this "aggregate scoring" concept from the CONCANCAFALAPPLE finals? I have to admit I thought this was a one game thing and I watched the game on Univision as as non-spanish speaker so I am as confused as can be as to what this sister-kiss-fest tonight actually means.

Re: Aggregate Goals?
You play two games, whoever scores more goals through both games wins. So, whoever wins when the teams play in Sandy next week is the champ. In the case of a tie, whoever has more road goals wins (if it's 0-0 or 1-1, we win, if it's 3-3 or up, they win, if it's 2-2, it's a tie).

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Re: Aggregate Goals?
I can't explain the scoring system, but I can copy and paste from the Washington Post!
"Salt Lake would be crowned champions with a home win or by holding Monterrey to a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. Monterrey must win or draw 3-3 (or by a higher total) to take the title. A 2-2 draw would lead to extra time and the possibility of penalties."
That game was a lot of fun to watch.

Re: Aggregate Goals?
Think of the two games as two halves of the same game, but goals you score on the road are really worth like 1.25 goals. So in some respects, the score is 2.5-2 RSL at the half.
For Monterrey to win, they need to win by one or more goals (for example, a 1-0 Monterrey win would make the score 3.25-2.5 MRY).
A 1-1 tie would not help them, because the score would then be 3.5-3.25 RSL.
A 2-2 tie would send the game into overtime. And if still tied, penalty kicks.
A 3-3 tie would send Monterrey through because then the score would be 5.75-5.5 MRY.
Obviously a win by RSL puts them through. So RSL is through, as long as they don't lose or tie in a 2 or more goal game.
