Jazz Draft Pick a Shocker
Who would have EVER guessed that Utah would take a kid that looks like this in the Top 10?:

Re: Jazz Draft Pick a Shocker
The Jazz are the best in the NBA at one thing...making absolutely horrible picks. We've had three good picks in the last 25 years: Stockton, Malone, Williams.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

I disagree. It hasn't been fantastic, but look where we have picked. The article last week compared the first 5 picks, the first 10 picks and the rest. Only those in the top rung ever contribute rings. Our best was obviously 3rd Williams, but the rest look not too bad considering what was left.Schmoe wrote:The Jazz are the best in the NBA at one thing...making absolutely horrible picks. 2006
1 14 Ronnie Brewer Arkansas
2 47 Paul Millsap Louisiana Tech
2005
1 3 Deron Williams Illinois
2 34 C.J. Miles Skyline H.S. (Dallas, TX)
2003
2 47 Maurice Williams Alabama
1999
1 19 Quincy Lewis Minnesota
1 24 Andrei Kirilenko Russia
1997
1 27 Jacque Vaughn Kansas
Only listing those I think really contributed.
I'll stop there. It just isn't easy shooting craps. The NFL isn't much better.
I was shocked at the pick as well. But how do you pick a superstar at number 9?

Re: Jazz Draft Pick a Shocker
This pick looks better now than it did on draft night. At that time, the Jazz were stocked at the wings. Then Korver and Mathews leave. Suddenly, he fits in.
