Gordon Hayward not an all-NBAer

Discussion for professional sporting events/teams and players.

This would be a great place to discuss the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs or whatever else.

Gordon Hayward not an all-NBAer

Post by snoscythe »

Don't know if this is good or bad news for the Jazz. If Hayward made one of the three all-NBA teams, the Jazz could have offered him a "super-max" contract where they could pay him up to $70 million (over five years) more than another team could offer. However, since he didn't make the all-NBA team, that number goes down to $40 million (again, over five years).

That hurts when some states (Texas, Florida, etc.) offer no income tax, cutting into Utah's payment advantage.

My best guess? Hayward to the Mavs ($$) or Celtics (Brad Stevens = Hayward's old coach from Butler).

I can't believe the Celtics are tanking AFTER winning the lottery!
