Cougs in the NFL 2016

Discussion for professional sporting events/teams and players.

This would be a great place to discuss the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs or whatever else.

Second preseason game:

Lions: Kyle Van Noy got two tackles. Ziggy Ansah didn't play.

Chiefs: Daniel Sorensen had the 2nd most tackles on the team with 4, including a sack and a tackle for loss. The Chiefs moved Soresen around a lot, utilizing him in the secondary and on blitzes.

Falcons: Jordan Leslie played the most downs of any receiver and caught both passes that came his way, gaining 35 yards as the 3rd most-productive receiver on the team.

Ravens: Pitta and Kaufusi didn't play. Wesley recorded no stats.

Dolphins: Denney recorded no stats.

Bears: Paul Lasike had 1 carry for 4 yards.

Packers: Robertson Daniel had 2 solo tackles.

Cardinals: Alani Fua had 2 solo tackles.

Uani Unga was at Bam Bam's getting delicious BBQ.

Pitta might not play until the 3rd or 4th week of the season. He got into a fight with a rookie mouthbreathing DE out of that trucking school in Boise during practice way back at the beginning of the month and broke his finger, which is a pretty essential body part for a pass-catching TE.

Kaufusi is likely out for the year with ankle fracture. Doubt he'll try to break into the rotation even IF he gets clearance to go.

Bears: Paul Lasike had no carries, listed as starting FB on depth chart. This is awesome.

Thanks Schmoe, strong work.

Lasike also was overthrown on a 4th down attempt where he would have gone for big yards had the QB been more accurate.

Third Preseason Game:

Lions: Kyle Van Noy played but recorded no stats on the day; Ziggy Ansah played limited time and recorded 1 tackle.

Chiefs: Daniel Sorensen had 2 solo tackles. Mitch Mathews once again had zero catches. As cuts loom, things don't look good for Mitch, but there was one WR already cut, and it wasn't Mitch.

Falcons: After relatively productive games, Jordan Leslie was cut.

Ravens: Pitta continues to deal with a broken finger after an in-practice scuffle with a player from truck-driver U, Kaufusi likely won't be back this season, and Wesley, still listed as second-string on projected depth charts, didn't record any stats.

Dolphins: Denney recorded no stats.

Bears: Lasike had no carries in his role as fullback. However, things look bright for Paul as the only other fullback on the roster, Darrel Young, was cut today.

Packers: Robertson Daniel had 1 solo tackle.

Cardinals: Alani Fua had 2 solo tackles and 1 pass defended.

Cuts are coming as all teams must trim their rosters to 75 by Tuesday.

Also from ESPN's NFL injury report today:
Van Noy suffered an undisclosed injury in the third quarter and went right to the locker room.
Ansah hobbled off the field after the third snap of the game. Ansah, who ranked third in the NFL last season with 14.5 sacks, did not return to the game (ankle).
So continues the trend of former cougar injury problems. :~(

Looks at like Pitta back in earlier than expected. 9 catches for 102 yards today. Nicely done!

10 points for my fantasy team. Thanks Pitta.

If Harline could have stayed healthy, I think he would have been a great NFL TE as well.
