Austin Collie w/ BC Lions

Discussion for professional sporting events/teams and players.

This would be a great place to discuss the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs or whatever else.

I hear John Beck threw one of those TDs.

Here's the stats:

Collie: 2 catches for 29 yards and 2 TDs.

Beck: 7 of 12 for 95 yards and 1 TD. (NFL passer rating of 111.46)

PS- There's lots of unrest in BC after the beating they took this weekend; we might see more of Beck in the coming weeks.

Collie caught two passes for 24 yards in a loss to Montreal (Hoffman's team). Beck didn't play and Hoffman hasn't played since the game he hurt his leg (or at least he hasn't had any catches, I can't find any info on injury/recovery).

Austin Collie was second in receptions in the Lions game against Montreal with three catches for 27 yards and one TD (the receiver who caught four didn't have a score).

But the big news out of this game is that John Beck took almost all the snaps (Lulay suffered a seemingly-season-ending knee injury), completing 14 of 22 passes for 114 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 picks. Beck played well enough to get the Lions the 25-16 win over the Alouettes (With Lulay as QB last time the teams played, BC lost 23-13).

Beck played just okay last night in his first start for the Lions, going 20 of 29 for 207 yards and a TD, but with two picks in a 31-18 loss to Ottawa.

Collie had 3 catches for 27 yards and the only receiving touchdown on the team.

BC will play this Friday and you can catch all the games on ESPN3 online (some games have been on ESPN2, but I don't know how likely that will be now that real football has started).

Looks like Beck got benched after going 9-16 (56%) for 82 yards (5 yards per attempt, no TDs or picks, one lost fumble). His replacement, Jennings, then went 15-27 (55%) for 252 yards and THREE interceptions, one fumble lost, and no TDs (9 yards per attempt).

Collie had no catches.

Collie had no catches in BC's win over Saskatchewan, BUT he had a touchdown pass of 21 yards (1-1, 21 yards, 1 TD, no INT: NFL QBR of 158.33).

John Beck has announced he is retiring from football. Said he just hates how much being on the road takes him away from his family.
