Jazz out of Playoffs - For Now

Discussion for professional sporting events/teams and players.

This would be a great place to discuss the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs or whatever else.

Yes they do. And - as a result, have the last spot in the playoffs - while the Lakers are out - for now. Hopefully the Jazz can hang tough for the next week.

Sun., April 7. Tonight was a great night, the Lakers lost (swept the entire season by the Clippers), the Jazz won, and the Mavericks won.

Jazz are in the last Playoff spot, the Lakers are .5 a game behind, Dallas is 2.5 games behind.

Jazz have 4 games left. The Lakers and Mavericks both have 5 games left.

Mavs need to make up 3 games on the Jazz. Mavs have five games left with a tough schedule. Jazz have a pretty cakewalk schedule.

I'm ruling the Mavs out this year. They made it interesting and are still shooting for .500, but they just failed too badly in the offseason to put it together this year. Cuban needs to open his wallet a bit further before next season.

The Jazz could very well go 1-3 in their final four vs OKC, Memphis, and on the road vs Minn.

The Mavs have three virtual locks vs. Phoenix and NO twice, but will need some luck vs Memphis and Denver. If they went 4-1 and the Jazz went 1-3, who holds the tiebraker?

The Lakers look like they'll go 2-3 or 3-2 in their last five, which could put things into a three-way tie for the last spot.

Sounds like it would go to the Jazz regardless, then.

Tues, april 9th. Bad night. Lakers win, Jazz lose, Mavericks idle. Lakers are now in the last Playoff spot. Jazz are .5 game behind. Mavericks are 2.5 behind.

Jazz have 3 games left, and 2 are away. Timberwolves 2x, and the Grizzlies. There is a chance.

Lakers have 3 games left - all @ home. But, they are tough games (Warriors, Spurs, and Rockets).

Dallas has 5 games left. 4 are @ home, 1 away. They are a mixed bag: Suns, Nuggets, Hornets 2x, and Grizzlies.
