Men's Lacrosse 2014

Post by Schmoe »

The Cougars set the tone for the upcoming spring season by winning the Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase to finish off the unofficial fall season, beating American River College, UCLA, and UNLV!

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

The Cougars had their blue and white scrimmage today and things went well.

FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON IS NEXT SATURDAY, FEB. 1 at 1:00 pm. I'm once again inviting any and all of you to come out, I'll even pay for your ticket, and I promise you'll have a great experience watching the fastest sport on two feet.

Oh, and here's a little highlight video to get you ready for it:

By the way, the Cougars are ranked #4 preseason (however, no first-place votes):

PS-No takers yet? Man, tough crowd. Well, the offer stands for all home games all season; I'm committed to converting at least one CC'er to lacrosse this season.

Will they be on tv this year? Being out of state, it is hard to get to a game.

It seems like they usually televise one game a season on BYUtv or online. I'll keep you posted.

I'd take you up on the offer in a heartbeat, and we could grab some BBQ after. BUT, I'm living about 10 hours away. Just far enough to make it inconvenient.

The Cougs started strong against up-and-comer UNLV, jumping out to a 6-3 lead, but the third quarter belonged to the Rebels, whose goalie stymied the BYU offense, and with a potent counter-attack the Rebs tied things up at 6-6 early in the fourth. The next ten minutes resulted in a defensive chess match, with neither team gaining the upper hand. Finally, with under four minutes to go, the Cougars scored and then bled the clock away to seal the 7-6 victory.

Y'all missed a good one today.

The team won an important road game against BSU this weekend. After starting sluggishly and letting the Donkos hang around for three quarters, the young Cougar squad turned on the jets in the fourth and finished off the blue version of Shrek's good buddy in blowout fashion, 14-6.

Next up: #4 BYU at neutral site (Boise) vs. Canadian school #17 Simon Fraser (they HATE it when you pronounce it like "Frasier"), Sat. February 15.
