In what's supposed to be the Cougar's easiest game of the week (vs Grand Canyon), the score is tied 6-6 at the half.

Cougs barely get by in the "easy" game against unranked GCU, 13-12. BYU better bring their A-game Saturday when they play #6 ASU.

BYU once again plagued by a slow start (or perhaps post-game hangover after their close win vs. a mediocre GCU on Thursday). Down 8-2 at the half to #6 ASU.

The Cougars dig themselves a hole early and can't recover. This may be the worst game BYU has had in years, going down 12-2 in the third quarter before netting some late goals against the ASU scrubs late. Final score, 12-7.

BYU could lessen the damage in the pollsters eyes with a big win vs. No. 22 Arizona on Monday.

BYU goes down 2-0 early to No. 22 Arizona, but sophomore attackman Mike Fabrizio keeps the Cougars in it, scoring a hat-trick in the first half. Freshman attack Jayden Haws also found the back of the net at the end of the first quarter. Tied 4-4 at the half.

BYU is just in a sports funk this year. Hope the Lacrosse team gets us turned around and on the right track.

The Cougars pull out of their wet-gym-sock funk in the second half. Penalties on Arizona helped get BYU up a goal early, then team captain Mickell Walker scored two straight goals. After some back and forth with AZ scoring a couple, Pat Matheson scored for the Cougs and then Mickell Walker, who brought his A-game today, stole the ball and took it coast to coast for the score. The teams traded goals with just over a minute left in the game and the final score is 10-7 Cougars.

No. 2 BYU goes 2-1 on the weekend and will be on the road next week in Berkeley (eww) where they'll face No. 8 Oregon, No. 13 Cal, and No. 3 (probably will be No. 2) Stanford.

BYU (8-1, 2-0) drops to No. 6 in the latest poll, one spot behind Chapman (7-2) whom they beat a couple weeks ago.

The Cougars were able to buck their trend of slow starts and came out on fire (figuratively) vs. No. 8 Oregon Monday night. Led by team captain Mickell Walker's two early goals, BYU grabbed a commanding 5-1 in the first quarter and would not look back. The Cougs would take a 6-3 lead into halftime. BYU keeper Rob Ostler and the BYU D had a tremendous game that included some great saves and "yard sales." The Cougs continued to pour it on in the second half and several different players scored to keep the white and blue well in front, doubling up the Ducks at the final whistle, 10-5.

The Cougars will have no time to celebrate as they turnaround tomorrow to play No. 11 Cal at 1:00 pm.

The Cougars come out swinging again as five different players score in the first half vs No. 8 Cal. Goalie Rob Ostler snags eight saves on shots on cage and the stout Cougar D gets some takeaways as the Bears are held scoreless, 6-0 going into halftime.
