The Bears come out on fire in the second half, ripping off four goals in under four minutes. But, lacrosse is a game of runs, and the Cougs respond, putting up a three-goal run of their own, leading 9-4. The teams then trade goals to end the quarter, 10-5. Cal pushes hard and nets two more goals, but BYU controls the ball and runs the time down for their second win in two days. Final score 10-7.

BYU plays tomorrow vs. No. 3 Stanford at noon and then comes home to turnaround and plays No. 2 Colorado on Saturday, 4 pm.

The boys in blue seem to have found their groove in sunny California. The Cougs had another quick start against No. 3 Stanford today, jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter. BYU would tally another couple goals, up 5-1, when Stanford got on a run of their own, but the Cougars responded, ending the half up 7-4. The second half? Fuggedaboutdit! Domination is the only word to describe the third quarter, with BYU's lead swelling to eight goals, 12-4. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair with BYU holding on to win, 13-7.

The Cougars are playing VERY well roughly halfway through the season, sweeping a trio of top-ten teams. They can complete the superfecta on Saturday when they play at home vs. No. 2 Colorado. Let's hope that they haven't peaked too early and can maintain this level of play throughout the rest of the season, because if we do, we could be looking at BYU's fifth national title (and really? No one here wants to go to the Colorado game?).

I know this is going to hurt you as much as it hurts me since I hurts me to compliment you and then you might have to change your attitude about how such a jerk I am, but Schmoe, thanks for your lacrosse posts.

Not that is over and I've had to brush, floss and rinse to get that nasty taste out of my mouth, Schmoe, don't ever let me agree with you because if I did, we'd both be wrong.

Where the hell am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Cougars let the first quarter get away from them, then decide to play in Q2. Down 7-3 at the half. Still a lot of lacrosse to be played (watched @ http://byulacrosse.tv/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

BYU lays an absolute egg vs. #1 CSU, falling 16-5.

Next game is at Div-II #2 Westminster on Saturday, April 13 in SLC.

Cougars come up big on all sides of the field and pick up the win vs. Westminster in Salt Lake City 13-8. Although this was a cross-divisional game (BYU being D-I and Westminny D-II) the Griffins will move up to D-I next year, making this a good start to another in-state rivalry. BYU will be playing host to one of their most distant opponents, Rhode Island, on Friday, April 26 and then close out the regular season by hosting rival Utah.

Side note-After losses to #2 Colorado and #1 CSU, BYU drops only one spot in the latest poll at #5.

Cougars were idle this week, but still move up a spot in the poll, to No. 4, thanks to an ASU loss. Still confusing is that Chapman, who was beaten by BYU and has one more loss, remains ahead of the Cougs.
