Betsy DeVos - nominee for Secretary of Education

I am on the Oregon Education Association board. At our board meeting today we took a position in opposition of her nomination. At her hearing, she was ill prepared and clueless on education issues. What do you think? Do you think she will be confirmed? There has to be someone more qualified than her.

She'll be confirmed. There shouldn't be an Education Dept. It should be abolished.

Agree 100% An department of education (that also has its own SWAT team) that does no educating. It seems mostly what they do is force political garbage on the schools by threatening to withhold federal funding.

The federal government has no business in education. The states don't either.

She'll be better than anyone in the past but it would all around be better if the department were abolished.
