Re: New Sheriff
Exactly. I saw that quote this morning and considered including it in my post - Thank you Snow. You are my hero. The MSM is arrogant, very liberal, and view us "common" folks as beneath their superior abilities to discern and distill what is true and correct. Hogwash. They live in a liberal echo chamber.snoscythe wrote:Here is what Trump is fighting. This was said on MSNBC yesterday, and no one blinked an eye:
MSNBC, and media in general, believes it is their role to control what the public thinks.Mika Brzezinski wrote:[Trump] is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.

Re: New Sheriff
hey BlueK,
watch the left freak about this... Trump just reversed Transgender protection for restrooms. says it's up to individual states. good for him. get the feds out of the Transgender issue with bathrooms.
the only one who thinks trump is getting rid of freedom of speech is the paranoid press, and their disciples.

Can we stop using the term "liberal" to describe the left? They are not even remotely related to the essential founding concepts of true neo-classical liberalism--free speech, free thought, freedom from government interference in basic fundamental human rights. They are the left.

Re: New Sheriff
Repeal and replace is looking less and less likely, with "leave, trim, repair, and box-in" becoming the words we're hearing out of the Congressional GOP, "If you say, ‘Would you help us repair something?’ people start listening in a whole other way."Ddawg wrote:I think yo have to plan circumspectly any time you embark on a major undertaking. Repealing and replacing ObamaCare is a massive undertaking. I can assure you - nothing was going to happen until Trump got his pick for HHS (Health and Human Services) confirmed and in his post. Price was confirmed on Feb. 10. Ten days have passed. Nothing so monumental as replacing ObamaCare is going to happen in 10 days. That said, I assure you the gears of change are turning.snoscythe wrote: And not moving immediately on Obamacare now exposes the waste of time in voting to repeal it in the past---what was their plan back then? Oh, yeah--they were never serious, they were just scoring political points with no real plan in place. Ladies and Gentlemen --- YOUR Republican Party!!

Personally, I hope the Trump folks tread deliberately and with attention to detail while disassembling ObamaCare and writing it's replacement. The Trump team cannot blow this rollout by rushing it. It would be disastrous. Tom Price fully understands whats at stake.

We need Trump to use his bully pulpit and call out all of the GOP congressfolk who ran on a "repeal Obamacare" platform, and hold them up to the spotlight.

Would love to see that. Hey Congress GOP - Put your big boy pants on and get rid of that po(c) that you all hated so much a few months ago when running for your current position.snoscythe wrote: We need Trump to use his bully pulpit and call out all of the GOP congressfolk who ran on a "repeal Obamacare" platform, and hold them up to the spotlight.

Re: New Sheriff
That is correct. I have argued that exact point for years. Out of habit the Democratic party is called the Liberal Left. My father was a Truman Democrat - just as Ronald Reagan was. That Democrat party is dead and gone.Cougarfan87 wrote:Can we stop using the term "liberal" to describe the left? The left today (they like to call them Progressive) is in reality - Fascist Socialists. They are aggressive and militant. They use the government to punish you if you don't agree or comply with their view. More regulation, more intrusion, more fines, more compulsory costs.
The "Left" is very dishonest. They don't want anyone to know what they really are - so they call themselves Progressive. I would love for them to be honest and announce what they really are - the Fascist Socialist Party. Only in a perfect world.

......and then Trump goes to CPAC and says the best path forward may be to just leave it be for a couple of years so it can fail on its own and the Dems beg the GOP to fix it.
Doesn't look like Obamacare is going anywhere. It's become an "entitlement", and no one looking at reelection in the next decade wants to touch entitlements any more.

Thanks a lot, Trump. That was the one positive thing I was looking forward to with your election.

I wasn't surpriawd. That's been the GOP M.O. lately. big talk, no results.snoscythe wrote:BroncoBot wrote:Would love to see that. Re: New Sheriff
Hold on. The ACA (ObamaCare) has about 2,000 pages in it. The regulation to implement ObamaCare are over 20,000 pages. The task to re-write, repeal, and replace - seamlessly and smoothly is monstrous. I would expect 12-18 months before anything really happens. I have full faith ObamaCare will be replaced. Trump doesn't care about getting re-elected. The weak kneed GOP wussies that are vacilating are all worried about re-election. Trump will push forward and replace ObamaCare - it just takes time.BroncoBot wrote:I wasn't surpriawd. Has Trump backed off on any of his promises? No. He'll keep his 4 big promises:
1. Nominate a Conservative judge to the Supreme Court. (Done)
2. Design and build a wall, and secure out southern border. Right now construction companies are working on and submitting bids. In the works.
3. Repeal and replace ObamaCare. Speaker Paul Ryan has promised repeatedly that ObamaCare will be replaced. It will happen. HHS Sec. Tom Price is a huge critic of ObamaCare - and put in the cabinet to replace ObamaCare. It's in the works.
4. Peal away layers of red tape and regulation. Today it was announced Trump is reducing the budgets and size of the State Dept. and EPA. Great news. In the works.
Keep you eye on the prize and have a little faith in Trump's promises. He has not backed away on any of his promises. Ignore the noise from the deceitful MSM that sews discord and doubt.
