I've hated this election season. There appears to be nothing but division in this country and I don't see any candidate with the ability to unite. Until there is some sort unity in this country, build on common respect, we are bringing on ourselves destruction. Romney had his faults, but one thing I could say for him is that he did not try to divide.

The arguments and name calling here is also very disheartening. While we may not agree on everything, this site is starting to reflect the country, good people being divided. This division is not helping anyone and is hurting everyone.

As things currently stand, it really doesn't matter how you vote, Hillary is going to win a landslide. I simulated 100,000 elections based off the state level polling. Trump won the election 0 times and there were 0 ties. Hillary averages 352 in the electoral college.

While what I did is not methodically as sounds as I would like, it shows what the state of the nation currently is. Needless to say that unless there is a major shake up in this election, how each of us vote will not make difference in stopping the defeat Trump is about to have.

So he promised them "hope and change"? that they'd be "stronger together"? to "heal, inspire, and revive" their country? that he was "reigniting the promise of Germany"? a "political revolution"? giving them a "new German century"? he would "unleash the German dream" and take them "from hope to higher ground"?

Every political candidate in the history of the world has promised to make their country "great" or "greater," and every candidate in a country more than fifty years old has promised in some way to return some kind of glory that has been lost. It is absurd to simply compare the slogan of a candidate to Hitler, as demonstrated above. Once you bring up Hitler, you've already lost the argument.

Are not two major problems of our country illegal immigration and terrorism?

Hitler was a great orator who promised that the state would fix the people's problems by giving them jobs etc. etc. etc. Barack Obama is the most Hilterish candidate we've ever seen (but instead of Jews, it's the rich white man's fault).

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Good question. I think a poor public education system and mass shootings might be two of the worst problems in the country today. Immigration is far more difficult than it should be, and terrorism is more of a foreign concern at the moment than domestic. Taking part in unnecessary wars, and providing weapons of any kind to foreign countries, are among our biggest problems concerning terrorism.

Your point about Obama is valid. Our country is more divided today than it was 8 years ago because of his anti-police politics. I think Trump would divide the country even worse.
