Romney on Trump
Wowzi! Today Mitt Romney directed and shredded Donald Trump at a nationally televised press conference (from the UofU). As I recall, Romney called Trump a "honey and a fraud" at least 3x. Romney was blunt and did not hold back.

If he'd done this during his campaign back in the day, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Looks like he learned not to pull punches.Ddawg wrote:Romney was blunt and did not hold back.

I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Agreed. Hindsight is always 20/20. Mitt learned the hard way - never take your foot off the gas.Schmoe wrote:If he'd done this during his campaign back in the day, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Looks like he learned not to pull punches.Ddawg wrote:Romney was blunt and did not hold back.

I loved it. Mitt kicked "heavy a$$." I wish he had done that in 2012 to that deceitful socialist.SpiffCoug wrote:It was a great speech.

Re: Romney on Trump
Perfectly said, excellent speech all around. Trump is the biggest fraud in politics I've ever personally witnessed and I believe will do more to harm the country than anyone else running.

Re: Romney on Trump
Don't you mean that he learned not to not pull punches? Or he learned not to pull punches? I thought Mitt's weakness was that he didn't pull enough punches...Schmoe wrote:If he'd done this during his campaign back in the day, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Anyway, one of the things that I like about Cruz is that for the most part he has taken the high road and has not attacked/criticized his opponents. Now, some are saying that this will cost him because since Rubio attacked Trump his numbers have gone up...

Re: Romney on Trump
Unfortunately, the people backing Trump are those who are revolting against the establishment, and to them Mitt is the face of the establishment right now, so he's not moving the needle with those folks. Hence the point of his message--let's get this to a brokered convention. Noteworthy was his refusal to back a single alternative-to-Trump candidate, instead pushing for a brokered convention, which is where Mitt's last best chance at a third run lies.

Re: Romney on Trump
What exactly happens in a brokered convention? I really have no idea.
