Book recommendation

I really like Ready Player One (a virtual world treasure hunt in the mid 2050s based on 1980s trivia).

I really, really like The Name of The Wind (amazing fantasy novel).

I liked Mistborn (fantasy novel with unique magic system).

Both of the last two have sequels that I will be reading soon.

The Mistborn trilogy is very good. It is written by Cael Sanderson, a BYU creative writing professor who was chosen to finish out the Wheel of Time series after Jordan died and who did, in my view, an awesome job. He has a new trilogy, the Way of Kings that I really like.

I think Mistborn is up to 5 books in the series now. Book 2 is next on my list. Book 2 of Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles, The Wise Man's Fear, was also VERY good. Armada will be on my reading list as well.

Atlas Shrugged, The Road, The Bourne Books by Ludlum (great like the movies, but way different). Brave New World. 1986.

If you haven't read Atlas Shrugged (or if you liked it), the audio book is a great value. It's like ~50 hours, and is read by one of the best out there. Enders Game books.

Book 2 of the Mistborn series (Well of Ascension) may be better than Book 1. I'll be reading Book 3 when I get a chance (Hero of Ages). I'm still waiting to read Kingkiller Chronicles Book 3 as soon as I can (and also, 2.5). Plus, Armada.

Maze Runner 0 (the prequel, Kill Order) is better than Maze Runner 3, but still not very good. I tried starting another book by the same guy, only to realize that there's no point being a glutton for punishment. I'm not usually one to put a book, or a series, down once I've started it, but sorry Eye of Minds (or whatever it was), I think tossing you away was the right call.

I might read more from the Percy Jackson writer as well. I enjoy his work, even if it's geared towards high school kids.

I'm still waiting to read Kingkiller Chronicles Book 3 as soon as I can (and also, 2.5).

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Book 1: The Name of the Wind. It's pretty good.

I've been reading Brad Taylor's Logan Pike books lately, they're great. I highly recommend them.

Quick Update-

I've read Mistborn books 1-6 now. Great series. Books 1-3 are a trilogy (classic fantasy, swords/magic/monsters, with an ingenuitive new magic system based on swallowing metal shavings, and a good dose of Gods/Morality built in), and books 4-7 are the second series (Western/Steampunk fantasy, shotguns/magic/train robberies). Book 6 just came out this month, while book 7 might be 2 years away still. Really fun, great characters.

I also read The 5th Wave. It's basically a re-write of Stephanie Meyers "The Host". I actually wonder if she can sue for damages. Not a bad book, for a total rip-off. It starts in a World War Z setting, complete with character POV changes by chapter at first. Then it goes through an Outbreak phase. It moves from there into some Ender's Game. Then ends abruptly. Book 2 is The Infinite Sea. Not sure how long the series will be.

Next up I plan on reading the book by TheWifeOfHawk.
