"Study: All Employment Growth Since 2000 Went to Immigrants"
By NRO Staff
June 26, 2014
According to a major new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), net employment growth in the United States since 2000 has gone entirely to immigrants, legal and illegal. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CIS scholars Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler found that there were 127,000 fewer working-age natives holding a job in the first quarter of 2014 than in 2000, while the number of immigrants with a job was 5.7 million above the 2000 level.

Re: The Obama Economy Sux
Wall St. Journal - economics professor Casey Hayek from Univ. of Chicago sez: Obama's redistribution policies have stymied the economy.
"A Recovery Stymied by Redistribution"
Public policy intended to make layoffs less painful actually made layoffs cheaper and more common.
By CASEY B. MULLIGAN
June 29, 2014
This is adapted from remarks by University of Chicago economics professor Casey B. Mulligan on receiving the Hayek Prize on June 25 from the Manhattan Institute for his book "The Redistribution Recession":
Why has the labor market contracted so much and why does it remain depressed? Major subsidies and regulations intended to help the poor and unemployed were changed in more than a dozen ways—and although these policies were advertised as employment-expanding, the fact is that they reduced incentives for people to work and for businesses to hire.

False. The report clearly states "since 2000." So obviously, this is a George Bush fault. And President Obama bears no responsibility.

Re: The Obama Economy Sux
Interesting unemployment numbers currently -
The U-3 number is currently 6.3% (Official unemployment number used by the govt.)
The U-6 number is currently 12.2% (That's the real unemployment number. It includes the folks that are so discouraged they have quit looking for work).
Is 12% unemployment, 6 years into a presidency anything to brag about?
Of note - a record number of people under Obama live below the poverty line and receive food stamps.
Washington Times -
"That’s rich: Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record"
Fifty years after President Johnson started a $20 trillion taxpayer-funded war on poverty, the overall percentage of impoverished people in the U.S. has declined only slightly and the poor have lost ground under President Obama.

National Review
MAY 16, 2014
"Black Americans Are Worse Off Under Obama"
Yet they still support him almost unanimously.
By Deroy Murdock
From article: "When Obama entered office on January 20, 2009, U.S. unemployment stood at 7.8 percent. By April 2014, that Bureau of Labor Statistics figure had fallen to 6.3 percent — a modest improvement. Among blacks overall, joblessness dropped, though less significantly — from 12.7 to 11.6 percent. But for blacks aged 16 to 19, unemployment grew from 35.3 to 36.8 percent."

Obama's economy has largely benefited corporations and the ultra-rich ....... read on ~
"7 setbacks for the middle class"
By Annalyn Kurtz
NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
Five years into his presidency, Barack Obama is still falling short of his number one goal: to fix the economy for the middle class.
Sure, a recovery has been underway for most of his presidency, but it's still slow and uneven. And despite Obama's focus on the middle class, the improvement so far has largely benefited corporations and the ultra-rich.

U.S. Economy Shrinks By Most Since Great Recession in 1Q
Published June 25, 2014
Reuters
The U.S. economy contracted at a much steeper pace than previously estimated in the first quarter, but there are indications that growth has since rebounded strongly.
The Commerce Department said on Wednesday gross domestic product fell at a 2.9 percent annual rate, the economy's worst performance in five years, instead of the 1.0 percent pace it had reported last month.

Re: The Obama Economy Sux
Thank you. This is an "on-going" process. I intend to post articles that expose Obama for what he is: A highly skilled, choreographed, propaganda, spin artist. He talks and sez "wonderful" things. He is a skilled campaigner - schmoozer. But, when it comes to actually improving life for the average, hard working, tax paying American - it has not happened - will not happen - is not going to happen.scott715 wrote:Ddawg, keep the articles coming.
Do you realize, Obama and the Liberal Dem's have been more respectful and courteous to the illegals breaking into this country than towards Conservative Tea Party folks (Who work hard, their children die fighting in the Armed Services, obey the law, and pay their taxes.). Isn't that stunning?
