Fun game.

Really liked the adjustments made at the half.

I'm not convinced Seljas should start. We were getting more points, rebounds, and better defense with Worthington.

Seljas does seem to open things up a bit more for Child's, though.

Seljaas needs to bring his confidence level up.

Now there is something about last night. Pacific beats San Diego. About time a school that limps into our game (7-10), beats us and then loses to everyone else. All I ask, if you beat us, is a little consistency. UVU beating us last year at MC, scoring over 100 points, and then going 17-17 on the season just does not cut it. It could be that Pacific just has a small run, but to beat BYU and San Diego, back to back, is an accomplishment.

I thought Pacific looked pretty good. Hopefully they are an up and comer program for the WCC.

This is nearly always a coaching problem.

So was it good coaching two years ago when Seljaas played with mountains of confidence even as a freshman? Seljaas has been doing other things this year pretty well. He just hasn't been taking very many shots after the first few games. But recently it seems like everything is coming back to him and he's getting better.

Certainly could be. If there was a change of philosophy (going from one of most possessions/game to fewest during Dave Rose's) it could really throw someone off for a while. I think haws is trying to find himself in this offense as well.

Haws does a lot of other things better than he used to, like defense, assists, lower turnover ratio, rebounds, etc. it's only his shot that was struggling, maybe with his personal focus on those other things. He's going to be a better overall player because of it though. in the last game he was shooting with more confidence where most of the year he's just been missing open shots. So maybe that's coming around.

LEt's hope so. We'll need a better % out of him to have a chance against SMC rnd 2 and the bulldogs.
