Re: BYU vs SMC
Combined.
It was over the holidays, so a lot of season ticket holders would have been out-of-town or had scheduling conflicts (2pm tip probably hurt that too). Normally, they would have sold them online and pretty much filled the lower bowl.
However, demand for the game would have been down for the same reasons, and then on top of all of that, BYU sold all the upper bowl tickets for $5, so a lot of would-be-lower-bowl-buyers took the cheaper route of buying the upper level seats.
Just a tough time of year to sell a game out anymore.

Re: BYU vs SMC
We dropped our season tickets that our family held for 20+ years previously because of the price increases. They've basically nudged out all of the good family fans out of the arena (or forced them to the crappy benches above) and replaced them with older/rich people who either don't show up or won't stand up and go crazy with the crowd.

And then stuck the student section in the corner.
If BYU was killing it in basketball, I get the changes. But we can't even win the WCC.
Honestly, when it comes to ticket prices and treating fans, I haven't been impressed with Holmoe.
