-Jonathon Tavernari split Brock Zylstra's ear in practice this week with a headbutt
-Freshman Tyler Haws will miss this week of practice after getting a little banged up with some physical ply.

-Coach Rose has added 3 walk-on practice (non-scholarship, non-game eligible) players:
--Tanner Lamb, an all-stater from Orem High who also played one year at Snow College. The guard/forward returned from a mission this past summer.
--Andrew Johnston, a shooting guard from St. George who starred at Snow Canyon High last season.
--Kyle Rose, a point guard from Beaverton, Ore., who starred at Southridge High last season. He's the nephew of coach Dave Rose.

-Aside from Super-Star Kyle Collinsworth (Provo HS), this recruiting class remains up in the air. Here are some rumored potential targets:
--Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) High School's Jon Loyd and Anson Winder.
--Forward James Johnson from Hollywood, Calif.
-Early signing day is Nov. 11.

-Class of 2011: Shooting guard DeMarcus Harrison from South Carolina.
--2011: West High (Utah) point guard Tyrell Corbin, the son of former NBA player Ty Corbin.
--2011: 6-foot-9 post Geoff Groselle from Plano West high school in Texas. Groselle has already made an unofficial visit to Utah and SMU.

-It looks like Lee Cummard may be joining the Utah Flash.

-Freshman Brandon Davies is still "undecided" whether he will serve a mission after the season or not.

So the practice players I'm guessing are just for keeping the team sharp, people to play against when practicing? I never knew they used extra players for that.
