2014 - Trent Hosick QB

Post by jvquarterback »

Has an official visit set for next week. He'll be transferring from Missouri this summer, red shirt 2014 and be a RS Sophomore in 2015. He was 3* in HS and had multiple offers from mid-low tier SEC, B1G and Big12 schools.

He didn't make the two deep at QB at Mizzou and he's already left the program:

He is same size as Hill but with 4.65/40 speed. He is an athlete as he was state heavyweight champ in wrestling. Strong arm and played well in Spring game. My feeling is that he will provide a good option between Hill and Mangum in 2015 and 2016. He has to sit out 2014. 4 years to play 4.

4 years to play 3. He spent one year at Mizzou and has to sit out a year after transferring. that leaves him 3 years of eligibility beginning in 2015.

No, but yes. He'll have 3 years to play 3, but it will take him four years to play those three since he won't be able to play this year. When he is eligible to he'll have three years, but he can't use any of those years now.

4 to play 3 implies one of those years could be this year.

If he were still at Mizzou, he would have 4 years to play 4. He's losing a year of eligibility.

But you are correct he'll have 3 years to eligibility beginning in 2015.

He can practice with the team this year if he transfers.

If Taysom leaves after this year we'll need him. I hope he comes.

Looks like he was bailed out by his receivers quite a bit and got lucky. These selected highlights don't give me a lot of confidence. They show a few skill passes. He could be adequate. Definitely a solid runner and a strong kid overall. Reminds me a bit of Riley Nelson.

It appears he wants to start next year and with Hill coming back, his plans are changing. We will see if he comes to the Y. I expect him to go elsewhere.

Not so fast. His best shot at starting next year will be at BYU, not Oregon or some other team that may or may not even offer him. BYU also gives him a game against Mizzou which has to help.
