A credible Utah news organization is

Post by bluebrotha »

reporting Utah is leaving the MWC. Is this cougarcorner discussion worthy ?

"sources are telling ABC 4 Sports that Utah will be invited to join the PAC 10 conference, but not BYU. The Cougars could wind up in the Big 12...or staying put in the MWC."

I really don't see it happening. As much as we love to hate the :utard: :utard: , the two schools are pretty tied together, and have been for a loooooong time. Could change, but I would be surprised.

Good-bye Utah!

The only down side - w/ the Yewts in the PAC-10 (PAC-12), they would have serious power w/ top recruits in the Utah area. Having the opportunity to play - and get National press coverage is very alluring to an aspiring athlete w/ NFL ambitions. It would be a recruiting goldmine for the Yewts. Otherwise - stick a fork in them!!

It must be a sloow news week.
Word to the Wise: If the phrase "It Might Happen" appears in the headline, it's not a news story, it's an opinion piece seeking to draw attention by stirring the pot.

Some other giveaways on what type of article this is-
"This is all speculation"
"Several dominoes have to fall first, but here's how it could all play out"
"It could be"
"Again, this is all speculation"
"And again, if this happened, there would be more dominoes to fall"
"It's all speculation"

Yeah, not exactly what you would call "hard" news...

I would love to kick the pukes into the Pathetic 10 (12) and move to the Big XII, it might even take some of the venom out of the rivalry, which would be nice for a change.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

Yes. Let the Yewts roll around in their own vomit. I've had enough of them to last a life time.

If they are good enough, they are already recruited by teh pac 10 anyway. i wouldn't care if they went and we stayed. we would have free sailing to a bcs bowl every year while they would struggle to have winning seasons every year. i would prefer to be atop the mwc with an auto bid to p10 at the bottom or middle.

Where there's smoke, there's fire...

That's not to say that Utah WILL get invited, but I can GUARANTY you that the president's in the Pac-10 have and/or are currently considering it.

Geographically and "liberal-minded-ly" (yes, that is now a word!), the :utard: is a good fit for the dope-smoking, tree-hugging, gay-marrying, Prius-driving, granola-crunching, legs-not-shaving hippies in the Pac 0.

I would love nothing more than to see Utah go to the Pac10 and BYU to the Big12. Seriously, are you kidding me? SLC/Provo area would be the coolest sports hub in the West. Imagine Utah hosting USC on the same day BYU hosts Nebraska or Oklahoma or Texas. Honestly, this would be huge for this town if it ever went down that way. Plus, could always play late in the year still--like Georgia and Georgia Tech do, or early in the year, like Iowa and Iowa State. The rivalry would still be huge, just different.
