Koy Detmer, Jr. heading to Texas A&M Kingston

He could have stayed on as a student assistant but it doesn't sound like he was going to have a shot of playing this season. Division II Texas A&M Kingston offered him a scholarship so he is expected to transfer for his final 2 years of eligibility. The school is also 130 miles from his home.

He wouldn't have seen the field again at BYU so this is probably a good move for him. Good luck to him.

For sure. He wasn't really given a much of a chance to perform. And likely he would be beat out by our current quarterbacks and never see the field.

Jake Kuresa thought he was the best QB for BYU once Mangum and Hoge went down. I thought he was just too small, physically, to be able to compete at this level.
Best of luck to him.
Best of luck to him.

It sounds like way more fun than Kingsville.

Good kid! Hope all goes well for him! I'm sure he'll be missed, perhaps especially by the other QBs ... he has a good head for football.
Good luck to him!
